Much Needed Early Spring retreat on Parker Island 2003
Thank God for issues in our relationship that brought us to this beautiful setting for a few days of help to put me on the path to a better life for myself and my partner.
Early morning wakes me to a very quiet uninterrupted space to think and gather. I start the wood burner and watch the flames and start the sauna and get ready for my 45 minute quiet time to reflect on my previous day's sessions. After which a shower and great breakfast that will bring us to 10 am to start our learning for the day. Between sessions we walk the beautiful island and gather oysters and visit and enjoy the beauty.
So far we have been working on devious behavior for the want of a better word, being a liar. We have reviewed the rules of the classes. Bunny brought our attention to oneness again. Most of our sessions have been on addiction and a free will type of life as an alternative where things in your life unfold in a natural direction for goodness. Yesterday, Bunny talked of the soul and our time on earth and how we can make a change. Bunny with Jane's wisdom make a great team to help each other. Getting back to the soul it was interesting to learn how what we are on this earth we drag into our next phase of living in a life here after. Another interesting thing I've learned about relationships is that likes attract.
This spacious, quiet, sun-filled, home is excellent for this type of relaxation that is needed to make us aware of our existence and the needs of ourselves and partner. In this atmosphere grabbing the concept of what you feel you can heal is a reality. Nature is a great helper to bring a person back on track, looking at eagles, grouse, woodpeckers, whales, deer in their unassuming way of life show us that it is us that make our lives complicated with our so called list of in the mind problems. These problems are all ego trip hurts that keep us from seeing the wants of our partner. Put your partner first in all situations is a most loving way to live. It seems very selfish if we truly love someone that we think the way we do - mistrust, being selfish, not giving them credit when credit is due. Not living for the moment is a great waste of time, the past is gone too and people like myself dwell on past way too much, using that space for laughter or sadness. Future never comes, it doesn't use us wisely in our muddled thoughts and time lost, future can play tricks on our mind taking us to fantasies, or terrible nightmares.
I ask God for help so I can put these concepts that Bunny and Jane taught me over the last few days to good use.
Gerald
Once again I am grateful for your teachings as it guides me in finding the truth of who I really am. My days with you on Parker Island helped me clarify some of the issues I had in my relationship with the people in my life, namely Gerald and my friends, and also my own personal situations. I am now able to understand the concept of my own free will which I have already applied in my day to day living. I can never loose myself when I am in my oneness or I know the truth of who I am.
Being on Parker Island, enhances the healing and understanding of the process as there are not interruptions or distractions. You are in the stillness of nature and clarity seems to embrace you in all that you learn. Thank you, for being there when we needed you.
