Tribute to Gayle from Jane Mutti From the moment we met Gayle in Prince Rupert BC our lives were headed in a new direction. We arrived by sailboat intending to overnight en route to Alaska's Inside Passage. Two weeks later we set sail for Ketchikan having exchanged treatments, done a series of breath work sessions with Gayle and signed up for her 6 month Intense Personal Empowerment Program, beginning 3 months later. Our trip from Parker Island to Prince Rupert with another couple as crew brought many of our disabling patterns to the fore and in desperation we were ready to seek a better way. We had been on again off again students of A Course In Miracles and trusted its teaching so were delighted to find Gayle's program was A Course In Miracles based. She had accepted a huge assignment in bringing the IPEP program to Prince Rupert and she gave it her all. She was mother, sister, confidant, counselor, and challenger. She had an uncanny ability to see each individual's ego mind and bring it to their attention with honesty and love. She was insightful in assigning stretches appropriate to healing the ego's habits, thus freeing us of our limiting thoughts and helping us to actualize our true potential. The Course's query "would you rather be happy or right?" was the basis for her admonition to us to be willing to admit we were wrong or had made a mistake and be willing to let go of control. Our egos rebelled at this suggestion and fortunately, in time, our Divine Minds prevailed in accepting and implementing this radical thought, leading to forgiveness of self and others. Her byline was "I'm out of my Divine Mind, where in the ego am I?" Gayle was an exemplary teacher of the Course, putting everything she shared with us into practice in her own life. In living with cancer she demonstrated courage, honesty and humility. She was an inspiration for conscious living and dying, seeking to bring awareness to each choice she made. She shared what was of value to her. We benefited through doing Qi Gong walking with her then incorporating this into our daily practice; listening to Caroline Myss meditations and applying her thoughts to our own lives. The ripples from Gayle's presence on this planet will extend globally as her students, friends and mighty companions carry the torch to all corners of the world, bringing the light that she was and continues to be to those dark places crying out for love and supporting those who are extending love.

Tribute to Gayle from Bunny Sjogren As I sit here at our house in Hawaii, projecting my mind and heart into this gathering today, I am being treated to the most glorious sunset, which seems fitting to sharing with each of you the celebration of Gayle's life and the incredible grief of our loss. Thank you for allowing me to join you in spirit. My first big feeling after knowing Gayle for 2 weeks was that she had saved my life and I hadn't even realized that it needed saving. This inspired me and we signed up for her 6 month program. I am so thankful for the wholehearted way she tackled my ego, softening it's hold on me and teaching me the value of being willing to be wrong and willing to know that I didn't always know what was best for me. And for the profound way she brought beauty talents and supportive insistence to the closed doors on my feminine side, bringing this option to life for me. I treasure Gayle's love and caring, her zest for life, her honesty and clear awareness, and so much more. I intend to live and share the gifts I received from this dear woman, our friend and mighty companion. Goodbye to your body on this plane Gayle and hello to knowing you in the holy instant where in the words of the Course In Miracles " the condition of love is met, for minds are joined without the body's interference, and where there is communication there is peace." |
Tribute to Gayle from Lucie Mattar A Story of Hope and Freedom The following is the powerful and inspirational story of Gayle's final journey which Danielle, Candy, Yvonne, Julie, Marc, Mike and I strongly feel needs to be shared with everyone. We acknowledge all of you who could not be there. It was obvious to those of us present, that she was being cradled from a distance by the love and spirit of your connection to her. At the time of her passing, Gayle blessed us with the most divine and amazing experience of love, grace and beauty. She made her transition at 2:27 on the morning of February 18th -- the day of her 47th birthday. She was completely enveloped by love and surrounded by her loved ones...which eased her crossing. Her last hour was a true birthing and labor of love: struggling with her breathing, letting go... and letting go... and letting go...communicating with us in her own special way. To quote Candy, we were all strategically placed as Gayle continued on her journey. Danielle climbed into bed holding and stroking her mom's feet, Candy was on her mom's right side holding her hand over Gayle's racing heart. Gayle's eyes half opened to keep the connection. I kept eye contact pouring Love into her. We were all joining in love with her, through the energy of God and Mother Mary. Yvonne was beside me also with her hand over Gayle's heart and Julie was beside Candy. Marc was between Danielle and Yvonne joining with his solid courageous heart. Mike was supporting from a short distance away. Candy asked "Lucie where is she?" I replied "She is on her journey, between here and where she is going, she is letting go and this is what we are also being asked to do...to let go". Julie was inspired to read Psalm 27, one of her Aunty Gayle's favorite. Hearing these words, Gayle's struggling breath seemed to ease. Julie then began to sing. Her voice, the voice which for sure could call the angels, rang with Amazing Grace and we all joined her. Almost simultaneously Gayle freed her hands from her side and raised her arms to her head as if her angel wings were unfolding. We were awe struck and felt an amazing energy fill the room. Danielle and Candy so generously, so selflessly encouraged their mom to fly as we lovingly reminded Gayle to be free, to follow the Light and go to God Her face beamed with radiance and a magnificent smile. Her eyes were wide open. She had the most amazing look of joy and awe we had ever seen on a person before. It was the look of pure ecstasy and bliss. As Julie described it, we all felt the unmistakable joy and peace of God. It was as though we were soaring on the wings of God's Love. The moment, the experience was breath taking, it was profound. The energy of this shared moment and Gayle's gift to us, was the bursting open of our hearts.

Tribute to Gayle from Paul McCann I had the honour of meeting Gayle and was one of the first two men to take part in an IPEP program, IPEP II. Meeting Gayle and completing this program changed my life and the lives of everyone I love. I will never forget her. She touched so many lives. We will all miss her, but carry her in out hearts. |
